Higgins Chairs Cast Stone Institute’s 2021 Design Awards Committee

Judging for the 2021 Cast Stone Institute Design Awards took place on August 25, 2021 with winners to be announced at the CSI convention in Tuscon, AZ, on October 7.

Cathy Higgins, DCS’ Vice President of Sales & Marketing, served as chairman of the Design Awards Committee again this year, a position she has served in for the last 10 years. As chairman of the committee, Cathy helps with all updates to the program, helps solicit architects to be judges for the Design Awards, recruits the judges for the Manufacturing Awards, and, new starting this year, works with Cast Stone Institute Executive Director Jan Boyer to facilitate the judging of the Craftsmanship awards.

The complete Awards program—Design, Manufacturing, and Craftsmanship—showcases the great work that CSI members produce. There will be up to 15 Design Awards presented this year, up to 3 Manufacturing awards, and up to 3 Craftsmanship awards. These awards programs really highlight the work of the institute and are foundational to the marketing and promotions efforts—they really are the “face” of the association.

As always, Cathy will be on hand in Tucson to facilitate the evening of awards presentations, along with participating in all of the institute’s meetings and activities during their annual convention.
