Peabody Plaza, a 290,000-ft² office building, features a façade that uses an artistic combination of patterned precast concrete panels, brick, and glass, to create an ever-changing reflection of the surrounding city.

St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge features a collage of transcendental Christian motifs, veiled within the fabric of the historic gothic architecture.
Texas Health Frisco-New Bed Tower

The City’s planning and development guidelines required an exterior natural masonry material for the project, and several systems were considered, including brick, natural cut stone, ceramic panels and precast concrete.
University of Alabama Parking Deck
Tuscaloosa, AL

The new seven-story parking structure at the University of Alabama looks more like a state-of-the-art library than a place to park your car. The neoclassical architecture and brick-and-limestone design were specifically chosen to mimic the century-old buildings that cover the university’s campus.

Architectural Precast Association Award Winners
In the Architectural Precast Association 2020 awards, DCS’ pigment was found in projects recognized in commercial, hospitality and entertainment, manufacturing and industrial, medical and government, and residential categories, with four more projects recognized for craftsmanship.
The Boro, Office Building & Theater
DCS Customer: Arban & Carosi, Woodbridge, VA
This project demonstrates an impressive and thoughtful integration of terracotta and metal panel assemblies, judges said. Clean and consistent joinery between a diverse range of assemblies is achieved. “The fabrications demonstrate the high quality and consistency of precast finishes in exposed areas. Overall, the precast components complement the large expanses of the curtain wall and portray a certain lightness to the overall project.”
Encore Boston
DCS Customer: Northern Design Precast, Loudon, NH
Featuring yellow in the base, with wheat and red pigments in treads and risers, judges recognized the successful utilization of precast material to efficiently achieve stylistic requirements. “Complexity and detailing were obviously extensive due to curvilinear geometries inherent in the design. Integration of various inlaid materials highlights the ability of precast to serve as both structure/ back-up or finished façade materials. Consistent finish quality is present throughout the components.”
Institution for Savings
DCS Customer: Northern Design Precast, Loudon, NH
The project features incredible color matching to achieve the detail needed to make the restoration successful. Color is blended seamlessly with all the surrounding original brownstone, judges said.
Norfolk Consolidated Courts Complex
DCS Customer: Arban & Carosi, Woodbridge, VA
The Norfolk Consolidated Courts Complex demonstrates expansive precast applications that achieve a rich, diverse series of rhythms and textures across the project, judges said. “Inlayed materials around the base of the building beautifully complement the earth-toned textured precast applications that comprise the remainder of the assemblies,” judges said.
Pepco Waterfront Substation
DCS Customer: Arban & Carosi, Woodbridge, VA
Contextual design and response to historical rowhouses assists in successfully breaking down scale and massing in this project, judges said. “Integration of historical brick detailing into façade assists in blending with surroundings. Various overlapping brick colors/masses facilitate a more approachable and pedestrian-friendly facility.”
Pinchin & Burke Residence, Colgate University
DCS Customer: Southside Precast, Buffalo, NY
Judges recognized the building’s Intricate detail in the trim of entrances and throughout the project. Natural stone veneer blends perfectly with other campus buildings and landscapes.

Judges said this project fully embraces the use of architectural precast as a focal point. “The restricted material palette allows various outdoor spaces created by the stepped massing and the intricate and delicate patterning of the façades to reveal the complexities of the project. As you get closer to these façades and outdoor spaces, the thoughtful intersections of overlapping assemblies are revealed and are able to be fully appreciated.”

Judges recognized the nice use of decorative capitals and fluted columns. “This project exhibited flow and a seamless feel.”
